My love of fashion began somewhat accidentally when I was in college. Like many students, I was on a strict budget, so I shopped at thrift stores. I started noticing that vintage clothing was made better than contemporary clothing and that the styles were more enduring. I started buying vintage, combining new and old pieces and putting together looks that would become my signature style.

After graduating from design school I worked as a graphic designer, always maintaining my love for fashion and clothes. In 2001 I fulfilled a longtime dream and opened Sugarpoppy, a women’s clothing store in San Francisco that soon became a neighborhood favorite. After several years of running the store and bringing the best contemporary trends to my customers, I sold the business but stayed in retail, working in management and sales at stores such as J. Crew, Banana Republic, and Margaret O’Leary.

Still feeling that I had yet to arrive at my ideal career, a few years ago I completed the exercises in What Color Is Your Parachute. The result was the following mission statement:

I desire a career that will enable me to combine my love of fashion and style with my desire to help individuals improve their lives.

There is great power in looking your best, and it can be a formidable tool for improving your life and achieving your goals. With over a decade of experience in fashion—styling and wardrobing individuals—my understanding of color and style as well as my ability to approach the concepts of image and wardrobe strategically, will enable me to create an image plan that will give you the confidence to go out and achieve your goals, whether personal or professional.
